Diony Avila: Maintenance Appreciation Week 2025
We continue our Maintenance Appreciation Week celebration, recognizing the incredible individuals who keep our communities running smoothly.
Today’s spotlight is on Diony Avila, Maintenance Technician at Caritas Plaza and Caritas Villa in Portland, Oregon. Though Diony has been with Guardian for less than a year, his professionalism, initiative, and care for residents have already made a lasting impression.
Portfolio Manager Cerissa Woody shares, “Diony consistently goes above and beyond for both residents and our team. He’s proactive in identifying maintenance issues before they become problems and often comes prepared with a solution. If a delay ever occurs, he communicates clearly with residents to keep them informed, which builds trust and satisfaction. His dedication, communication, and forward-thinking mindset make him an invaluable part of our team.”
Edwin Gonzalez, Community Manager at Caritas Plaza and Miracles Central, echoes that praise: “Diony is approachable, flexible, and dependable. He adjusts his schedule to support multiple sites, always making sure every property’s needs are met. Even while managing his primary communities, he’s stepped in to assist at other properties without missing a beat.”

When asked what motivates him, Diony shared that he’s proud to work for a company that values both residents and employees. “The most rewarding part of my job is working with great people to make our residents’ lives more comfortable,” he says. One highlight of his time with Guardian was helping ensure both Caritas communities passed inspection on time—something he credits to the strength and teamwork of his maintenance crew.
