Gary Liblin: Maintenance Appreciation Week 2025
We’re officially kicking off Maintenance Appreciation Week here at Guardian! This week is all about celebrating our incredible maintenance team members at every property—acknowledging the hard work they put in every day to keep residents safe, comfortable, and happy in their homes.
One example is Maintenance Tech Gary Liblin at Aspen Ridge in Cottonwood, Arizona. Gary has been with Guardian for about two and a half years and brings an unwavering dedication to his role. His approach reflects the Guardian way:

"We strive to provide a professional, comfortable, and caring environment, giving residents the confidence that maintenance will get the job done safely, efficiently, and professionally. We work to know every resident by name, making them feel comfortable reaching out whenever an issue arises.”
Gary’s dedication was recently on full display when he responded to an emergency flooding issue in a resident’s unit. Portfolio Manager Kevin Burke recalls, “He answered the call with urgency and professionalism. The resident was understandably emotional, and Gary immediately reassured them that the situation would be handled.” Once on-site, Gary sprang into action, mitigating the damage and coordinating with a vendor to ensure repairs were completed quickly and efficiently. Kevin adds, “It’s clear that Gary takes great pride in his work, and it shows in the consistent effort and care he puts into every task.”
For Gary, the most rewarding part of his job is “going above and beyond to ensure that every resident lives more comfortably in their home.” Beyond emergencies, the maintenance team at Aspen Ridge works tirelessly behind the scenes—keeping sidewalks safe, coordinating vendors, managing work orders, and performing preventative maintenance that changes with the seasons. Gary explains, “Our goal is to make sure everything runs smoothly, so residents can enjoy a safe and well-maintained community every day.”
During Maintenance Appreciation Week, Kevin Burke wants to highlight Gary and the entire Guardian maintenance team: “We couldn’t do our jobs without our maintenance teams. They are the boots on the ground, keeping properties looking their best, completing work orders, and producing quality apartment turns. The work is demanding, and it’s not always easy, but our techs show up every day ready to make a difference. Sometimes it’s not just fixing a faucet—it’s being the only friendly face a resident sees that day. That impact matters.”
